How You and Your Community Can Help

The experience of those who have contributed to the setting up and running of our winter night shelters is that it rewards and revitalises lives of all those involved, Guests and Volunteers alike!

If you wish to help, here are some things to think about:

1 Could you or someone from your community volunteer this winter and be part of the team?

2 Could your community building or hall be used overnight one day a week as part of the Night Shelter rota?

3 Housing up to 25 local homeless people in a respectful manner and without descrimination presents many challenges - the Christian ethos of the project is all-important. We foster self esteem and well-being and enable everyone involved to feel part of the Snowflake family and an important part of our wider local community.

Our target is for a group of 250 volunteers to operate the Snowflake Night Shelter 7 nights a week (we plan to open from late November to mid-March) - could you be one of them?

If you would like to discuss how you might get involved, please contact the chair of the Snowflake Trust, Andrew Crighton, via email

Thank you to everyone for your support.
